Welcome to the team habañero website
What's in a name? The habaņero chili originates from Mexico and is a close cousin of the Scotch Bonnet found in the Caribbean. The habaņero has a Scoville heat rating of 300,000 - compare that with the more commonplace jalapeņo at a rather unmanly 6,000 Scovilles. Quite simply the habaņero is the hottest chili on the planet!
habaņero is named, in part, in honour of a J35 sailed on Lake Erie. The mix of skills on board, the excellent communication and the thirst for competition (but not at the expense of fun) were truely inspirational. team habaņero's ethos is built on this model. Pre-season maintenance under winter skies is no-one's idea of fun. From the comfort of your clubhouse chair smirk at those idiots servicing winches in -5°C windchill, or the poor fools polishing their hulls in the snow. Relive the fun of removing old anti-fouling with the team here and here.
The Owner's Enclosure is now open for ridicule.
