What's in a name? The habañero chili originates from Mexico and is a close cousin of the Scotch Bonnet found in the Caribbean. The habañero has a Scoville heat rating of 300,000 - compare that with the more commonplace jalapeño at a rather unmanly 6,000 Scovilles. Quite simply the habañero is the hottest chili on the planet!

habañero is named, in part, in honour of a J35 sailed on Lake Erie. The mix of skills on board, the excellent communication and the thirst for competition (but not at the expense of fun) were truely inspirational. team habañero's ethos is built on this model.
